American Truck Historical Society

ATHS is made up of people who love old trucks and the history of trucking--restored old trucks and unrestored old trucks; old trucks that run and old trucks that don't. ATHS collects and preserves the dynamic history of antique trucks and the trucking industry. We currently have over 21,000 members in the US, Canada, and twenty foreign countries. Once a year we hold a national convention and antique truck show which features from 400 to 700+ antique trucks (25 years old or older).  One benefit of membership is a subscription to our 48-page, bimonthly magazine, Wheels of Time.

CFTR was formed by a group of Truckers Wives that are concerned about what has come of the trucking industry. We have decided to take a stand and work for positive changes in the trucking industry. CFTR is fighting to stop the current Hours Of Service Proposal, getting more truck safe parking, improving the publics opinion of the Truck Driver, pay for wait time, lowering fuel cost and more. We have seen many changes in Trucking in the past few years, and many more are right around the corner. It is up to you the Truckers to make your opinions known.

Florida Association  of Mobile self-contained Storage Units

Our Association was formed in early 1996 by a group of storage trailer and storage container owners and managers from all over Florida. Our industry serves thousands of customers all over the state. The need to adopt an Association that would serve our industry grew as the number of storage trailer and container rental companies around the state grew. Today we are many companies and are growing each year

International Brotherhood of Teamsters

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents more than 1.5 million working men and women throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The history of the Teamsters union is rooted in the transportation industry and our union members have helped this country grow from the delivery of goods by horse teams to today’s unionized truckers. Teamsters not only represent commercial truck drivers but delivery drivers in every industry.


NATSO, Inc. is the professional association of America's $42 billion travel plaza and truckstop industry. The association was founded in 1960 by truckstop operators as a means of managing credit information on their mutual customers. Today NATSO serves as America's official source of information on the diverse travel plaza and truckstop industry; conducts an annual convention and trade show attended by more than 2,000 industry representatives; acts as the voice of the industry in Washington on legislative and regulatory matters; and supports efforts to generally improve the business climate in which its member companies operate.

National Private Truck Council

NPTC is a national trade association dedicated exclusively to representing private motor carrier fleets. These corporate or "private" motor carrier fleets are operated by manufacturers, distributors, processors, and retailers to meet their inbound and outbound transportation needs. Such fleets also include food, retail, wholesale, construction and service companies that provide utility, communications and various other services to consumers and business customers. Private motor carrier fleets account for approximately 82 percent of the medium and heavy-duty trucks registered in the United States; travel approximately 53 percent of all the U.S. miles traveled for medium and heavy-duty trucks; and consist of slightly more than two million vehicles. Consequently, private fleets comprise the largest segment of the trucking industry.

National School Transportation Association

The National School Transportation Association (NSTA) was founded in 1964 by school bus contractors to "promote and foster the highest degree of safety in the transportation of school children." NSTA works with Federal and state legislatures, Federal agencies, the public sector, and other interested parties to bring about industry-wide improvements in all areas of pupil transportation. Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia (a Washington, D.C., suburb), NSTA serves as the trade organization for school bus contractors which are companies that own and operate school buses and contract with school districts to provide the pupil transportation service. NSTA membership reflects the great diversity in the industry today. Members range from small one or two bus family-operated fleets to larger corporate entities operating over 1,000 school buses in multiple states

National Truck Equipment Association

Ontario Trucking Association

The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) was founded in 1926, and provides services and public policy advocacy for trucking companies hauling freight into, out of and within the Province of Ontario and the continent. OTA presently has about 1700 member companies and is the only trucking association in Ontario that represents and has members from all segments of the industry -- for-hire carriers, private carriers, owner-operators, intermodal, suppliers, etc.

Owner Operators Independent Drivers Association

The Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association was founded in 1973 and is the national trade association representing the views and interests of professional truckers in all 50 states and Canada.OOIDA's mission is to serve owner-operators, small fleets and professional truckers; to work for a business climate where truckers are treated equally and fairly; to promote highway safety among all highway users; and to promote a better business climate and efficiency for all truck operators.Our national headquarters is located near Kansas City in Grain Valley, Missouri and is staffed with more than 100 full time employees.

Professional Truck Driving Institute

Since its inception in 1986, the Professional Truck Driver Institute, Inc. (PTDI) has become the nation's foremost advocate of optimum standards and professionalism for entry-level truck driver training.The importance of the Institute's mission is punctuated by the fact that for all its vastness, in the final analysis the success of the industry rests in the hands of its 2.9 million drivers -- who take the wheel and assure that more than $38 billion worth of products annually move across America efficiently, safely, and in concurrence with all the rules.

Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association

Since 1959, Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) has helped its 1,000+ members in 34 countries attain the highest standard for quality and safety. SC&RA is committed to providing the unique information and any other lawful activities members need to safely, legally and profitably transport, lift and erect oversize and overweight items.

Transportation Intermediaries Assn.

As a condition of membership, all TIA members are required to sign a strict, national Code of Ethics. The Ethics Committee of TIA arbitrates and ensures that members adhere to the Code of Ethics. These articles have been adopted by the Transportation Intermediaries Association to promote and maintain high standards of professional service and ethical business conduct among its members.

Truckload Carriers Association

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is the only national trade association whose collective sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry.  The association represents dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and intermodal container carriers operating in the 48 contiguous states as well as Alaska, Mexico, and Canada.  Representing operators of over 340,000 trucks, which collectively produce an annual revenue of over $34 billion, TCA is an organization tailored to specific truckload carrier needs.

Truck Writers of North America

Founded in November 1988, TWNA is an organization of professionals who are involved in gathering, writing and reporting news and information about trucks, trucking and the trucking industry. Membership is composed of writers, editors, freelance journalists, public relations and communications specialists, sales and marketing personnel and others involved in the business of producing information related to the world of trucking. There is an associate membership for those whose work is primarily publishing-business related, public affairs, public relations, communications, sales and marketing, advertising personnel, and others involved with the truck trade press; other interested parties


United Carriers Association

The United Highway Carriers Association (UHCA) primarily serves the interests of small to medium-sized trucking companies, as well as mobile home transporters and pilot cars. We employ a legislative advocate on a full-time basis to influence state legislation in the best interests of our members, and to report on pending laws and regulations. The majority of our attention is focused on issues and regulations within the state of California, although we report on national issues when deemed of consequence to members of UHCA. Our current membership stands in excess of 700 companies.
